Stunning panoramic views of the Umbrian valleys and well-preserved medieval architecture. The old village is a charming place to discover and has been awarded as "one of the most beautiful villages in Italy".
In the museum church of San Francesco, built in 1400, you can admire works by Luca Signorelli, Pomarancio and Raffaellino del Colle, Donatello's Madonna and many other Renaissance pieces.
Built in 1680 on the upper part of the village, among the numerous works hosted inside are The Crucifixion by Pomarancio and terracotta Madonnas by Luca and Giovanni della Robbia.
The sacristy of the Church of San Francesco is decorated with a polychromatic terracotta depicting the Madonna and Child, an almost unique work attributed to Donatello's early period.
The Bruno Bartoccini Museum of modern sculpture, is one of the few collections of modern sculpture in central Italy, is dedicated to the sculptor born in Pistrino in 1910. Founded in 2009, it hosts 36 works executed by the artist.
The Fighille museum hosts a permanent collection of modern art tied to the national FighilleArte painting contest that happens every October and showcases 200 awarded works and donated by numerous artists.
Pistrino, the most populous suburb of the municipality, jealously guards an ancient religious building, the Church of S. Maria Assunta (12th century). It is a small treasure box that contains inside it a splendid and important series of frescoes.
