The Valtiberina area is a unique destination for food lovers as it offers a wide range of typical products obtained from the combination of natural resources and centuries-old traditions, particularly the pork meat processing and the production of the famous Vinsanto IGP. The area is rich in wild fruits such as White Truffle and Porcini Mushrooms which are the basis of numerous local dishes. But there is much more to discover: The Tiber Valley oil has a fruity and intense flavor, while the wines made from Sangiovese and Trebbiano grapes are rich and elegant. Chestnuts and game meat are some of the products that perfectly reflect the wild nature of Valtiberina, along with typical sweets that are prepared during Christmas, Easter and Carnival keeping the traditions alive.

Thanks to the wide variety of local products, Valtiberina offers multiple food and wine festivals that take place mostly every weekend from June to October. Each town has its own specialty and traditions, which of course are also present in the municipality of Citerna.
